Symmetrical progressive erythrokeratoderma

Synonym:

Gottron's syndrome

Symmetrical progressive erythrokeratoderma is an autosomal dominant disorder characterized by large, slightly elevated red to red-yellow, sharply demarcated plaques with a fine scale.
Lesions are usually symmetrical and can expand peripherally.

Treatment:

  • Spontaneous clearing in sporadic cases has been reported.
  • PUVA, etretinate, and acitretin have all been reported to be effective.
  • Long term treatment is usually required.
