Milker's nodule

Milker's nodule, caused by a parapox virus that is quite similar to that causing Orf, is found in cows and in those who look after cows.
Lesions begin as firm reddish blue nodules which can develop a necrotic center. There is typically a halo of inflammation around these lesions.
Lesions may be solitary or multiple. They are most common on the hands.
Patients with milker's nodule are prone to develop a non specific erythema reaction pattern consisting of generalized erythema with some vesiculation.

Treatment:

• Spontaneous resolution occurs within six weeks; lesions clear without therapy.
