Macular amyloidosis
Macular amyloidosis, typically seen involving the central upper back, is manifested by an often reticulated, hyperpigmented skin.
Pruritus is common.
Treatment:
- As lesions are often associated with trauma such as a hot water bottle or very hot showers, correction of the cause is important.
- Topical glucocorticoids can relieve the pruritus.
