Lichen amyloidosus

Lichen amyloidosus usually presents as a papular eruption of the pretibial skin, although other areas may be involved.
The lesions can be intensely pruritic, appearing as multiple discrete papules, often a dull or dark brown in color. Papules may coalesce into plaques.
Chronic excoriation can worsen the condition.

Treatment:

• Topical potent glucocorticoids such as clobetasol 0.05% cream bid may be effective in some patients.
• Etretinate orally can be helpful at relieving the pruritus and flattening skin lesions but recurrence is common.
