HIV infection - AIDS

The acute HIV infection can be manifested by a maculopapular eruption, sometimes urticarial, with mucosal involvement. This self-limited exanthem resolves within two weeks without treatment.
Chronic HIV infection, as it evolves into AIDS, has stigmata of a profoundly compromised cellular immune response. Relatively unique conditions such as bacillary angiomatosis and eosinophilic folliculitis may be seen.

Treatment:

  • The treatment is under constant evolution. Please consult an AIDS specialist.
