Herpangina

Herpangina is an infection caused by Group A Coxsackievirus.
Affecting mostly children, it is clinically manifested by the sudden onset of fever, associated with a sore throat, dysphagia and often abdominal pains.
Pharynx lesions consist of 1-2 mm vesicles that evolve into ulcers.

Treatment:

  • The disease is self-limited, with no effective therapy.
