Dermatology GlossaryContact Dermatitis - AllergicAllergic contact dermatitis is a cutaneous delayed hypersensitivity reaction to the application of an external allergen. Erythema, vesicles, bullae and associated pruritus can be present. Eventually, desquamation, hyperkeratosis and lichenification can occur. Allergic contact dermatitis should be suspected in the case of any chronic eczematous process. Treatment
